Iulian Bisericaru
living and working in Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Iulian Bisericaru lives and works in Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca, Romania. His early painting is influenced by the Cluj-school of art, having graduated from the Painting Department of the University of Arts and Design Cluj-Napoca. The artist has since expanded his area of thematic interest and continues to pursue daringly colourful and complex painterly compositions, writing his PhD thesis on the relationship between architecture and painting, with a critical overview of the ecological ideology. Bisericaru’s artworks offer a somehow neglected or hidden perspective on aspects of contemporary society, one that the human eye willingly avoids.
