“‘We’ are all recursive ‘knots’ in time articulating moments between ancestral and future selves. At the same time, we are intimately and profoundly connected to all other things/beings that are themselves dynamic knots in time, together making patterns in a larger web of being. With species extinction in our current time of ecological crisis, there is a ‘double death’ because not only the individual instance dies but its recursiveness into the future and its patterns with all other futures are cut off.”
